I borrowed P50 (fifty pesos) from Jacob and another P50 (fifty pesos) from Ronald, so that would gave me a total of P100 (one hundred pesos) borrowed money. Now, I went to the Mall and bought a t-shirt worth P97 (ninety seven pesos) , the cashier gaved me P3 (three pesos) change.
Thinking that I could lessen my debt a bit from Jacob and Ronald, I came up an idea to return P1 (one peso) to each of them as my advance pay. What's left on me now is only P1 (one peso) , since I returned them P1 (one peso) each. For this, my debt would now be reduced to only P49 (fourty nine pesos) to both of them.
Adding the two P49 (fourty nine pesos) would amount to P98 (ninety eight pesos) as my new debt total. If I add the P1 (one peso) left from me then that would make P99 (ninety nine pesos), the question now "where have the 1 peso gone?" to justify the total of P100 (one hundred pesos) I borrowed from them a while back. What do you think have the P1 (one peso) gone?

hmmm.. another triva question huh...??? i leave the floor for ronald and jigs to answer your questions eric....
ReplyDeletehave a nice day ahead
@darlyn
ReplyDeleteit seems your busy down there lol hehe ^_^
wow this question stuns me. i think your doing the wrong math Eric.maybe you have spent the 1 peso eating isaw or something. or you have just bought a yosi at the kanto and forgot about it. if this problem bothers you a lot i'll just send you a peso for you to solve your prob. ok? ehehehe pag sure oi!
ReplyDeleteHahaha tricky nga question! actually wala nawala ang 1. Ang question mao nag palibog.
ReplyDeletediba nag bayad ka og 1 kada isa..
ang utang nimo sa ila 49 nlng...
tag 97 mn ang t-shirt so 49x2=98
@jigs
ReplyDeleteyeah that question really stuns big time dude lols. you have a point there jigs, it's possible that i've bought a yosi at the kanto but that doesn't convinced me enough because the price of yosi now is P2/stick and isaw i guess it's P3 or more nowadays hehehe ^_^
@jacob
so 48.5 plus 1 = 49.5
49.5 times 2 = 99
99 + 1 (sa imo) = 100
sakto ba? pagshur oi! hehehe

---
100
@james roy labrador
ReplyDeletehahaha ayaw ibuking james ^_^ ok pod imong justification da! ayos, dghan nako nakuha idea dri kng unsaon jud pag explain kng asa ang piso hehehe ^_^
Total amount = 100
ReplyDelete49 + 49 = 98 -->Remaining debt after the 2 piso was paid back.
I want to prove that the piso could be in your pocket by assuming to cut 1 piso to 100 from the cash in hand and put it in your pocket.
Therefore,,,cash in hand= 99
Cash on pocket = 1 piso
---------------
100
Buying the tshirt given the cash in hand(99Php):
99-97= 2
Paying 1 piso each:
2-2 = 0 Cash in hand.
But the cash in the pocket is still 1 piso.
Isn't it magic? No it is just an illusion. There are illusions in mathematics that only the rules of Math can prove it wrong.LOL.

This is also a good example of "mathematical illusion".
@ronald
ReplyDeletewow very well said dude! ^_^ your explaination here was one of a kind, you really are a math wiz ronald. you're idea was brilliant! ^_^
