Web 2.0 - The 2nd Generation WWW

Web 2.0 is the term given to describe a second generation of the World Wide Web that is focused on the ability for people to collaborate and share information online. Web 2.0 basically refers to the transition from static HTML Web pages to a more dynamic Web that is more organized and is based on serving Web applications to users.

Other improved functionality of Web 2.0 includes open communication with an emphasis on Web-based communities of users, and more open sharing of information. Over time Web 2.0 has been used more as a marketing term than a computer-science-based term. Blogs, wikis, and Web services are all seen as components of Web 2.0. Web 2.0 was previously used as a synonym for Semantic Web, but while the two are similar, they do not share precisely the same meaning.

What to know about Anchor Text

The anchor text or link label is the visible, clickable text in a hyperlink. The words contained in the Anchor text can determine the ranking that page will receive by search engines. Anchor text usually gives the user relevant descriptive or contextual information about the content of the link's destination.

The anchor text may or may not be related to the actual text of the URL of the link. For example, using html tag called "href" a hyperlink to the main page of the site http://agentsofvalue.com might take this form:

The anchor text in this example is Make Your Business Grow Here. Instead of displaying the complex URL http://agentsofvalue.com on the web page, it is replaced with Make Your Business Grow Here as it's anchor text, contributing to a clean easy to read text or document. Sometimes the usage of anchor text tend to be misunderstand by some webmasters. Instead of turning appropriate words inside of a sentence into a clickable link, they frequently insert extra text such as this:

The two companies signed a joint venture treaty yesterday. To know more click here

The best and concise way of coding this would be:

The two companies signed a joint venture treaty yesterday.

This proper method of linking is very benificial because anchor text holds a significant weight in search engine rankings. Anchor text is weighted (ranked) highly in search engine algorithms, because the linked text is usually relevant to the landing page.

The objective of search engines is to provide highly relevant search results; this is where anchor text helps, as the tendency is, more often than not, to hyperlink words relevant to the landing page.

What is a Reciprocal Link?

A reciprocal link is an agreement between two webmasters to provide a hyperlink within their own website to each other's web site. Generally this is done to provide readers with quick access to related sites, or to show a partnership between two sites. It is also called two-way link that involves a link to your site from an external source and a link from your site back to the external source.

Reciprocal links can also help increase traffic to your web site in two ways. First you will probably have some viewers visit your site from clicking the reciprocal link directly. Secondly, most Internet search engines also take into account the number and quality of web sites which contain links to your web site; the more hyperlinks found on your site, the higher the ranking it will get from search engines (depending on the search term or keywords).

To have a clear definition of a reciprocal link, consider the diagram shown above. You will notice that every site has an incoming link (a link pointing to your site represented by a red arrow) and an outgoing link (a link that points to other site represented by a blue arrow).

Optimizing a new site - the right way

If you want to know the right way of optimizing your new site you can follow these steps below. These method will help you rank well in Google.

Step 1

First you need to research for keywords, you may use this keyword tool found here http://www.goodkeywords.com. Start off searching four keywords with at least 3 million competing website in Google. It must have also around 10,000 searches a month. For now just use four keywords, you can add more later.

Step 2

Create your website and apply meta tags on it. Add at least one article aside from the content on your main page. If you have links like disclaimer or terms and conditions you can add them as well and put a no follow tags on those links.

Step 3

Now start getting links as many as you can to your website from the other websites. This is called off-page optimization and it will help you boost your rankings. You can do link exchange or one way link from sites like article directories, internet directories, social bookmarking sites, forum, and other sites where you do not need to link back on them.

When getting links do not always get links to your homepage. Include your other pages in getting links such as your article page. The anchor text should not always be the same exact text. Remember to put your keywords on your anchor text. Don't use your keyword repeatedly all the time, vary them as much as possible.

Get links as many as you can, the more the better. If you want to get ranked for more than four keywords then you may hire someone to help you out on getting links. Remember that the more keywords you target, the more links you need.

Make sure the sites you are getting links are not banned by search engines. Check also that the link pointing to your site does not have the no follow tags. You can use the plugin called Search Status for Mozilla Firefox that will highlight links that uses no follow tags.

You need to get steady amount links. The idea is to get same number of links everyday, the higher the number the better. Don't get a hundred today and nothing for the rest of the week, it should be consistent.

Now apart from getting links, you should also tweak your site a bit. You can add blog and update it with good content regularly. Search engines love new content. Create a sitemap of your site and put only the important pages on it. It's a good idea to submit a sitemap to Google sitemaps.

Always keep in mind that SEO (Search Engine Optimization) deals with on-page and off-page optimization. However put more effort on off-page optimization coz it's a big factor in boosting your site's ranking in search engines.

Earn Money Online For Free

Earning from PTC - Step by Step Guide

Hi there! Did you know there are sites that are willing to pay you to click ads? Did you also know that it's FREE to sign up to them? You can earn money online, right now, there are already tens of thousands of people that are paid to work at home, some are making a tidy sum just by clicking on a link.

So what are PTC (Paid To Click) sites?
PTC or Paid To Click is a program that let you earn extra money from the Internet for free. PTC sites are companies that pay you for viewing websites. They get payed for showing the pages of their advertisers in return they pay members who view the ads from their advertisers. PTC's or Paid to Click Sites offer FREE Memberships so you can make cash at home right away.

The 3 Basic Things You Need to Have Before You Start Earning

1. A web browser. Any web browser will do but I would highly recommend FireFox, since you'll be opening/clicking multiple links Firefox has this neat feature where you can open multiple links thru tabs and not thru windows which is messy and unorganized by the way. Download a FireFox browser here. It's free.

2. A dedicated e-mail account. You wouldn't want to clutter your personal e-mail account with PTC sites you've signed up so therefore I recommend you create a new one. All Paid To Click Sites (PTC) and Payment Processor will accept almost all free e-mail addresses. But, I highly recommend signing up to Gmail, simply the best one out there.

3. A Payment Processor Account. This is the most important site for you because this is where you place the cash you've earned from the PTC sites you've signed up. The most popular ones that PTC sites acknowledge are Paypal and AlertPay. I recommend you open an account for both because Paypal and Alertpay are the most trusted payment processors used by PTC sites (especially Alertpay). Choose a Personal account for starters and don't worry because it's absolutely free.

Now, you've got all the basic things accomplished you need PTC sites to sign-up.

A word of advice though. Not all PTC sites are worth your time. Some sites offer only 3 ads to click per day. Some offer $0.0001 per link sites like Adsentive (that's ONE HUNDRED ads you have to click to make ONE CENT!). I don't promote such sites because there are better sites out there that offer more. Don't be fooled by other offers where the only thing they're after for you is referral. See my list of honest PTC sites which I have personally signed up for and currently maintaining.

My Top 10 PTC sites are all FREE to sign-up. Now, once you've signed up with the PTC sites above you can now click on "Surf Ads" or "View Ads" from the PTC site you've joined, wait for 30 seconds to expire for your view to get credited. Click "Stats" or "Account" to check how much you've made. Make sure to visit everyday to click on more ads. Ads are usually refreshed within 24 hours period so you can click on them again. If you do the math, all those PTC programs would approximately make about a dollar per day and ads are refreshed everyday for you to click on them again and in a month that would make more than $30 .

Of course you could make even more if you can gather referrals or making a blog to advertise your own PTC programs, with 50% to 100% referral earnings 1 referral could approximately double your daily earnings. The more active referrals you gather means more earnings for you. I would gladly help you make it with no strings attached but of course you got to have the patience. I already answered quite a few inquiries about this internet marketing thing by guys who didn't signup and its cool with me.

That's why I'm encouraging everyone joining this program to post an advertisements and make their own blog like this one. People with little patience are not encouraged to venture in this field. You need to know that online money making is not a "get rich quick scheme." You can't earn $5000 overnight here. Let's be realistic. The best thing about this internet marketing is that it's still for FREE, all you need is a computer, an internet connection and a few hours of your spare time.

And if you're having a hard time getting referrals, here is a site that helps you get referrals. I got my 5 active referrals from GetRef.com to my Bux.to account and they're clicking ads everyday. Their referral program is proven to be effective. Explore the website to know how it works.

So there you go, by now you should have an idea of how to earn money from the PTC business. Let's all click and earn!
