Video Games I Played Over The Years

Video games has made a great influence of my lifestyle since I've learned to play them. Way back then, wherein the famous video game console was family computer, I've learned to play my very first game which was Supermario Bros. I know everybody knows this game since its very popular up to now.

Over the years video games evolved and new game console has emerged such as playstation and playstation 2. During that time I was addicted playing Ghost Fighter in playstation, it was popularize by the self-titled TV Anime series from Japan with characters like Eugene, Dennis, Alfred, and Vincent. I'm always runnin' out of allowance playing this game during my college days hehehe. After the playstations, pc games has became very popular and played by majority of gamers.

There came another game that interest me, it was Starcraft from Blizzard Entertainment. I patronized this game for almost 5 years along with Counterstrike from Valve but I prefer playing the previous than the latter. I've learned Starcraft at our school's Internet laboratory, we spend our alotted time playing this game instead of doing internet research hehe. After the class, we always hangout on Internet Cafe to play. There was one time we're done playing early in the morning the next day haha, we played one-on-one with my classmate and the battle heated up for a P10 stake just to spice up the competition. The result ended up as even, he won the first game and I took the second game ^_^

A few years later Starcraft and Countersrike has become less popular, it was succeded with a new strategy game called DotA, its a mod from Warcraft III Frozen Throne Expansion set. At first I didn't appreciate playing this game and found it boring but as I know the game a little longer it make me addicted to it especially when you're going against great players. We always ended up at dawn playing this game on Internet Cafes together with my buddies and sometimes its the reason why I'm late at work hehehe. Usually we finished playing the game and go home mostly at 4:30am and I have to wake up for work at 8:00am ^_^

Do you play video games too? If so, share me some of your interesting video game experience here by posting a comment on this topic, everything is accepted so go on and don't hesitate to share ^_^

High Technology

Multi-touch - a human-computer interaction technique and the hardware devices that implement it, which allow users to compute without conventional input devices (e.g., mouse, keyboard).

Multi-touch consists of a touch screen (screen, table, wall, etc.) or touchpad, as well as software that recognizes multiple simultaneous touch points, as opposed to the standard touchscreen (i.e. computer touchpad, ATM), which recognizes only one touch point.

This effect is achieved through a variety of means, including but not limited to: heat, finger pressure, high capture rate cameras, infrared light, optic capture, tuned electromagnetic induction and shadow capture.

A myriad of different applications for multi-touch interfaces both exist and are being proposed. Some uses are individualistic (e.g., iPhone, iPod touch, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air). However, multi-touch technology is mainly used to incorporate collaboration into the computing experience.

P.O.D - Change The World

Imagine a place only your soul can vision
The heart of a child who looks, sees and listens
Paints a picture using every color
And what she sees, she sees is like no other

One word, a voice unheard
You can change the world
With everything I know you're made of
One word, a voice unheard
You can change the world
If everyone would stop and listen

The art of innocence make so much sense
But placed in wrong hands, well then it's wasted
Filtered throught the eyes of a pure mind
A one of a kind paradise for you and I

Break the cycle, find your rhythm
Share the gift that you've been given

You can
You can change the world
You can change the world

Web 2.0 - The 2nd Generation WWW

Web 2.0 is the term given to describe a second generation of the World Wide Web that is focused on the ability for people to collaborate and share information online. Web 2.0 basically refers to the transition from static HTML Web pages to a more dynamic Web that is more organized and is based on serving Web applications to users.

Other improved functionality of Web 2.0 includes open communication with an emphasis on Web-based communities of users, and more open sharing of information. Over time Web 2.0 has been used more as a marketing term than a computer-science-based term. Blogs, wikis, and Web services are all seen as components of Web 2.0. Web 2.0 was previously used as a synonym for Semantic Web, but while the two are similar, they do not share precisely the same meaning.

What to know about Anchor Text

The anchor text or link label is the visible, clickable text in a hyperlink. The words contained in the Anchor text can determine the ranking that page will receive by search engines. Anchor text usually gives the user relevant descriptive or contextual information about the content of the link's destination.

The anchor text may or may not be related to the actual text of the URL of the link. For example, using html tag called "href" a hyperlink to the main page of the site http://agentsofvalue.com might take this form:

The anchor text in this example is Make Your Business Grow Here. Instead of displaying the complex URL http://agentsofvalue.com on the web page, it is replaced with Make Your Business Grow Here as it's anchor text, contributing to a clean easy to read text or document. Sometimes the usage of anchor text tend to be misunderstand by some webmasters. Instead of turning appropriate words inside of a sentence into a clickable link, they frequently insert extra text such as this:

The two companies signed a joint venture treaty yesterday. To know more click here

The best and concise way of coding this would be:

The two companies signed a joint venture treaty yesterday.

This proper method of linking is very benificial because anchor text holds a significant weight in search engine rankings. Anchor text is weighted (ranked) highly in search engine algorithms, because the linked text is usually relevant to the landing page.

The objective of search engines is to provide highly relevant search results; this is where anchor text helps, as the tendency is, more often than not, to hyperlink words relevant to the landing page.

What is a Reciprocal Link?

A reciprocal link is an agreement between two webmasters to provide a hyperlink within their own website to each other's web site. Generally this is done to provide readers with quick access to related sites, or to show a partnership between two sites. It is also called two-way link that involves a link to your site from an external source and a link from your site back to the external source.

Reciprocal links can also help increase traffic to your web site in two ways. First you will probably have some viewers visit your site from clicking the reciprocal link directly. Secondly, most Internet search engines also take into account the number and quality of web sites which contain links to your web site; the more hyperlinks found on your site, the higher the ranking it will get from search engines (depending on the search term or keywords).

To have a clear definition of a reciprocal link, consider the diagram shown above. You will notice that every site has an incoming link (a link pointing to your site represented by a red arrow) and an outgoing link (a link that points to other site represented by a blue arrow).

Optimizing a new site - the right way

If you want to know the right way of optimizing your new site you can follow these steps below. These method will help you rank well in Google.

Step 1

First you need to research for keywords, you may use this keyword tool found here http://www.goodkeywords.com. Start off searching four keywords with at least 3 million competing website in Google. It must have also around 10,000 searches a month. For now just use four keywords, you can add more later.

Step 2

Create your website and apply meta tags on it. Add at least one article aside from the content on your main page. If you have links like disclaimer or terms and conditions you can add them as well and put a no follow tags on those links.

Step 3

Now start getting links as many as you can to your website from the other websites. This is called off-page optimization and it will help you boost your rankings. You can do link exchange or one way link from sites like article directories, internet directories, social bookmarking sites, forum, and other sites where you do not need to link back on them.

When getting links do not always get links to your homepage. Include your other pages in getting links such as your article page. The anchor text should not always be the same exact text. Remember to put your keywords on your anchor text. Don't use your keyword repeatedly all the time, vary them as much as possible.

Get links as many as you can, the more the better. If you want to get ranked for more than four keywords then you may hire someone to help you out on getting links. Remember that the more keywords you target, the more links you need.

Make sure the sites you are getting links are not banned by search engines. Check also that the link pointing to your site does not have the no follow tags. You can use the plugin called Search Status for Mozilla Firefox that will highlight links that uses no follow tags.

You need to get steady amount links. The idea is to get same number of links everyday, the higher the number the better. Don't get a hundred today and nothing for the rest of the week, it should be consistent.

Now apart from getting links, you should also tweak your site a bit. You can add blog and update it with good content regularly. Search engines love new content. Create a sitemap of your site and put only the important pages on it. It's a good idea to submit a sitemap to Google sitemaps.

Always keep in mind that SEO (Search Engine Optimization) deals with on-page and off-page optimization. However put more effort on off-page optimization coz it's a big factor in boosting your site's ranking in search engines.
